Our Firm:

From its founding in the early 1990’s, Buckl Architects has been dedicated to serving the healthcare community.  Our early focus included major equipment installation projects, particularly those of complex and newer technologies.  While that specialty continues to this day, steady growth in firm size, capability and reputation has resulted in a firm fully prepared to assist healthcare clients on projects and master plans of every size, type and complexity.

In 1995, a second office was opened in the Philadelphia area by Keith Kammerer who joined the firm from Hahnemann University Hospital, a large center-city Philadelphia academic medical center.   In addition to Keith’s experience at Hahnemann, several other key staff have similar operational backgrounds which does provide us with a unique and different perspective as a firm.  With offices in Easton, PA and Cherry Hill, NJ Buckl Architects is located to serve clients from northern Virginia to southern New England.

In 2006, firm leadership transitioned from our original founder Werner Buckl, to our current four principals.  In 2013, Buckl Architects again expanded with the integration of  Architecture Furst, a Bethlehem based design firm specializing in K-12 Education and Civic projects, providing a major addition of experienced staff and expanded capabilities to our Easton office.

While the firm continues to grow and mature, our commitment to ‘client service‘ and ‘high quality design‘ remains constant!  Our client service approach is in part crafted by our operational experience as ‘facility managers’ and as former patrons of design services.  Our design principles are based in our staff’s common experience and desire to transform hospital spaces (often overwhelming, sterile and stressful environments) to wonderful and comfortable places that promote healing and inspire patients, visitors and staff.  It is that collective staff experience that provides us with a unique perspective, resulting in great outcomes for each and every project!

That design approach defines our purpose and mission and is what we live to do! Providing clients with great and efficient design that transforms their space to work effectively for staff and comforts patients is the what keeps us up at night, ensuring that we accomplished that reliably, each and every time!
